Lead Generator

Basic salary £24k to £30k + uncapped commission   We are on the lookout for highly motivated individuals who have a passion for selling to join our outbound sales team. Here at The Energy Supermarket, we recognise and reward hard work and are dedicated to developing our people so that they can realise their full potential. With a commission scheme that pays up to 20% of generated revenues we provide OTE potentials more than £35k (our top performing lead generators currently earn more than £45k). Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with regular early finishes on Fridays. No weekend or Bank Holiday working. Annual target to get the full month of December off paid!  
  • The Role
You will be contacting businesses over the telephone, making them aware of the various services we offer and how those services can be of benefit. You will be looking to identify key decision makers and gather information around the organisation’s current contract situation and other needs. You will be using our bespoke CRM system to manage your accounts. You will pass leads to the Senior Account Manager who will price and close any opportunities – of which you will share any derived commission. We will constantly develop you in this role but, those who excel will be given additional training to gain promotion to an Account Manager.  
  • The Challenges
80% of people don’t have the necessary skills to work in outbound sales. Telesales is never an easy ride, and this position is no different. Competition, market saturation, reluctance from prospects to enter conversations and the repetitive nature of the role are all things that you will encounter. 98% of calls will end in failure. We make all our revenues from the remaining 2%.

  • The Role:
Working as part of a team, you’ll report to one of our Senior Account Managers who will be on hand to provide you with all the support and direction you need to compete at the highest level in this industry. The underlying function of a Trainee Account Manager is to generate new business to develop your own portfolio, ensuring newly acquired customers are retained and renewed.  
  • The role can be broken down into the following key components:
  1. Prospecting to identify target customers using all sales tools and media including referrals, telephone canvassing, email, and networking.
  2. Developing and maintaining a healthy pipeline of prospects.
  3. Generating and following up of all allocated sales leads.
  4. Maintaining customer contact where required to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  5. Responding to all sales enquiries and following up on all sales activity in a professional, timely and efficient manner.
  6. Always maintaining professional business conduct and appearance when representing the business
